Melanie Skinner

Melanie Skinner is a middle blocker and right side hitter who led her teams in blocking including reaching the 8th ranked blocker in the nation for NAIA.  During her high school years she had the privilege of playing club on a top level team coached under Ron Larsen, who later became a part  of Gold Medal Squared and is currently an Assistant Coach for the USA Men's team.  She was offered several scholarships and chose to play her four years of collegiate volleyball at Biola University where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Physical Education.  During her 15 years of coaching she attended 4 Gold Medal Squared Coaching clinics.  She has also worked with and had the opportunity to train under Patrick Gallagher at Pure Athletics, the top speed and agility Athletic Trainer in the Greater Sacramento Area, furthering her knowledge and methods of properly developing successful athletes.  She coached the Sacramento State Women's Volleyball Club team in 2015 &2016 where she was honored with the Coach of the Year award in 2015.  She has a sincere passion for the game of volleyball and for the well being of her athletes.  CPR and First Aid certified. Currently coaching at Camerado Middle School and is the mother of two amazing children.  She is actively pursuing her teaching credential to teach Physical Education and Health.

Coaches

​Camille Gutierrez

     She is a former Division I setter and AVCA All-American and spent over six years coaching club and assisting at ARC in Sacramento before moving on to the Division I level.

Gutierrez is returning to Dynamic after coaching with Rage Volleyball club couple years ago assisting the 15-1 team the 2016 season. She help guide the team to an Open bid at the Junior Olympics and finished 19th out of the top 36 teams in the age group even though they were predicted to finish 34th.

Overall, Gutierrez brings to Dynamic Volleyball Club 20 years of coaching experience at the Division I, Community College, and High School levels. She coached at American River Junior College (1998-03), West Virginia (2004-06), Kennesaw State (2006-08), Pacific (2008-09), Indiana State (2009-11) and Butler (2012). Gutierrez is also a graduate of the 2012 NCAA Women’s Coaching Academy and a member of Alliance of Women Coaches.

Gutierrez began her collegiate playing career at American River College (1993-1995) where she was named a Junior College All-American, two-time team MVP, All-State, All-Northern California, MVP of Bay Valley Conference, First Team All-Conference, four time All-Tournament selection, NorCal Female Athlete of the Year, and American River College Female Athlete of the Year.

She spent one season at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) where she was the starting setter and was among the career leaders in various setting categories. She finished her collegiate career at the University of California-Davis where she was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American, All-Southwest Region, Northern California Athletic Conference (NCAC) Newcomer of the Year, NCAC first team All-Conference, and two time All-Tournament selection.

She is a 1993 graduate of St. Francis HS, a 2004 graduate of California State University-Sacramento with a bachelor’s in Kinesiology, and earned a Master’s in Athletic Coaching Education from West Virginia University in 2006.

Jennifer Cioma

Jennifer Cioma is an outstanding outside hitter and middle blocker who led several teams in passing efficiency and kills during her 20 plus years of playing.  She was also one of the top female doubles players for both grass and sand.  She has acquired a high level of knowledge of the game and truly has a love for volleyball and competition which shows in her coaching and rapport with her athletes.  After high school she played one year at West Valley College then continued on to finish her last 3 years of collegiate volleyball at Cal State Hayward.  She earned Rookie of the Year, 1st Team All-League,  2nd Team All-League and was inducted into the Hayward Hall of Fame in 2008.  She is the mother of two wonderful children and has been coaching for 15 years leading athletes to success and a few teams to Junior Olympics.

​Sumnitra Smith

       Coach Sumnitra is new to Dynamic this year but not new to the game.  She spent her four years of high school on her varsity team and led her team as the captain.  She was voted All Conference two years and was chosen for the Optimist team her senior year. She has played high level club volleyball from a young age as well before she went on to play two years at American River College.  Sumni then preceeded to extend her love for the game into sharing her knowledge as a coach for Foothill High School for four years followed by several years of coaching club at all ages.  Coach Sumni brings a lot to offer to the court as an athlete and a Coach!



Whitney Lang

​      ​Coach Whitney comes to us from Ponderosa where she currently coaches the JV team.  Whitney played at Union Mine for four years and she was a key outside hitter her senior year when her team won state!  She was also chosen for the Optimist team her Senior year.  She went and played one year at American River College where she realized she enjoyed the beach game more. So she went and qualified for er AAA CBVA rating and played in several tournaments.  Coach Whitney spent a year on a Europian pro tour when she was given that amazing opportunity. She has been coaching high school and club for four years.and beach volleyball for 6 years.  We are excited to see Whitney coaching with us in our family since Coach Jen and Coach Melanie were coaching as well at Union Mine and Precision vbc during Whitney’s success there!

Justin Smolich

       Justin played for his High School team and years of club before he went to be the Defensive Specialist at American River College for 2 years!  Justin will be our dynamic defensive specialist coach and offers lots of knowledte to our growing athletes.  He has been coaching volleyball for over 20 years both in High School and for club.  He is no stranger to the game and brings a lot of knowledge to our coaching staff.

       Justin is a Double A grass athlete and played on the circuit for over 15 years as well. We are so excited to have Justin coaching with us at Dynamic and what he will bring to our Defensive training as well!
